Want to feel the crunch? Go to a newly opened food court like we did. It was so crazy. At first B said forget it, let’s go somewhere else. But uncharacteristically I persuaded him to walk one more quick round, … Continue reading
I was forlorn to find the foodcourt at Parkway Parade under renovation. I know, a tad dramatic. But I did like coming here for the soya beancurd (tau huay), yellow bean fritters (ham chin pang), mee siam, mee rebus and … Continue reading
I really like the new 112 Katong mall. It’s cosy and the theatre beckons. I also love J-Mart, the Japanese grocery store. The packaging is just lovely and I feel spoiled for choice. We got a yogurt drink and don’t … Continue reading
So here I was at 112 Katong. Had no idea of its existence before. It used to be the Katong mall, but it’s so utterly different now. I don’t like checking out malls, but my partner does, especially if it’s … Continue reading
All hawker centres in Singapore for that matter. Just as I was down about inflation and feeling that the one affordable thing we have left is hawker food, I read about the possible privatisation of hawker centres. Oh the horror! … Continue reading
313 Somerset is definitely an improvement on the Specialist Shopping Centre that used to occupy this space. The best part is that the Somerset MRT is linked to the mall. No more getting wet in the rain. The one shop … Continue reading
The fried kway teow was not so great. It was somewhat dry. The curry rice was good, but somehow better at the Wisma Atria branch. I still prefer Food Republic over other Singapore Food Courts.
This is the one place I wanted to try – Freshness Burger from Japan. But just look at the queue. They did a smart thing though by maintaining a good atmosphere within the place through crowd control. Well there’s always … Continue reading
Hi there. Thanks for reading. I’ve moved to Singapore Actually See you there 🙂 ************************* Updated on 13 Feb 2011: Pretty furnishings and bridal decorations at King & King Wong, a furniture store at level 4 that extends to the … Continue reading
It was quite an anticlimax. This mall is the size of ION Orchard, but it’s definitely not in the same league. I guess the extreme crowds put me off immediately. The mall just felt very cramped and the design was … Continue reading
I wonder if this had anything to do with my strange dream about accidentally crossing the North Korean border. I have been craving for Korean rice on a hot stone plate so we headed to stall 20 at Food Republic, … Continue reading
Update: I just went to check out the opening. You can see the photos I took in my latest post about Nex. In today’s Straits Times there was an advert that the newest mall in Singapore – Nex is opening … Continue reading
Out of all the Food Republic outlets, the one at Wisma Atria is my favourite. I always gravitate towards either the curry rice or the Korean rice on hot stone. There’s a colourful array of dishes to choose from at … Continue reading
