National Night
A witty satirical music video by Mentos which makes fun of our government’s anxiety that Singaporeans are not producing enough babies. To me it also might be poking fun at sexist rap videos (I take it that way or some … Continue reading

Singapore on her 46th Birthday
Took a double decker bus around a small part of our clean island. Haven’t sat on the upper deck in many years and I recommend it. Thought these bunch of flags sewn together and fluttering in the strong breeze was … Continue reading

Tiong Bahru: Nostalgia Hotel’s Rooftop Pool and My Thoughts about the Singapore Flag
Passed by a couple of times and was intrigued by this new boutique hotel that doesn’t really look very new. Well I only started noticing the rooftop pool quite recently, so perhaps it’s an old refurbished building? I decided to … Continue reading

The Esplanade from Marina Square Shopping Centre
There is quite an odd looking fountain structure here. There was a bit of road closure today due to the National Day Parade. I spotted attendees in red taking the MRT from Promenade Station.

Pre National Day Celebrations at VivoCity
VivoCity had this huge Singapore flag up. Somehow, the bigger the flag the grander it looks. I wish the red was a bit darker for greater contrast. I think in celebration of National Day perhaps, VivoCity’s blue drummer boys were … Continue reading

How a 5 Year Old Sees Marina Bay Sands
Of all the art pieces I was attracted by this one by a 5 year old, of Marina Bay Sands. Spotted this at an exhibit of children’s paintings at Millenia Walk, probably a contest related to the National Day Celebrations. … Continue reading

I had never heard the National Day Parade Song before, but first saw Mr Brown’s (Singapore’s most famous blogger apart from Wendy Cheng) spoof which was pretty darn good as usual. He can actually sing! Xiao Char Bor means crazy … Continue reading
