I bugged B to bring us to Arab Street. Love this area. Although the ordering system at Minang can be pretty messy, according to B who does the queuing and ordering, they did help us bring the plates upstairs in the nice air-conditioned area. We would not have had the skill (me at least) to carry them up ourselves, up that steep narrow stairway. It was scorching hot downstairs, where we ate previously unaware that there was room upstairs.
Avoid the tea here and go to the famous nameless sarabat stall nearby for your teh tarik instead.
In my last visit I declared this was the best nasi padang. I have had some new favourites since.
Some members of my family have sworn off rice but I just can’t live without it.
