We have the best snacks ever and one unique to Singapore (Malaysia too) is the curry puff. It’s a pastry filled with chicken curry and deep fried. The curry puffs in the photos are my aunt’s creations and made with curried chicken, potato and a big dose of love! It’s a wonderful comfort food, when you need a perk me up.

Curry puffs are a great snack to have when you’re not famished, but craving for something savoury and not too filling.

There’s also a baked version with flaky, buttery pastry. You could add different fillings like spicy sardine which is also popular in Singapore.

Yeah….I get hungry looking at the filling too

She’s a teacher but her true passion is cooking 🙂 Lucky for us.

  3. I just ate dinner…and yet still find myself salivating over your great pictures. As always…!!!

My Aunt will be so happy to hear it 🙂 Sometimes she’s not very confident about her cooking even though we all think she’s so great!!

  5. Fabulous picture – these must be delicious! My family make something that looks very similar (patties), but with curried beef mince inside. One of my favourite Ceylonese short eats – along with godamba roti, stuffed green chillies, malu pan, dal/uludhu vadai, meat/fish balls, devilled eggs…
