A common sight on Singapore roads, but it doesn’t seem safe for workers who could be flung out if the lorries or trucks make a sudden stop. Often I see vehicles like this, especially lorries driving at breakneck speed and it annoys the heck out of me.

No wonder you always hear about people dying in these things…it looks so dangerous for the guys in the back!
It’s one of the jobs outsourced by the parks department to contractors. I hope if they come across my blog they will impose more stringent guidelines. I somehow get the feeling that this is not considered flouting the law yet. Very often I see construction workers heavily piled into the back of a truck. It’s like their lives are not valued and that’s really bad.
