#75. It’s Hot, But Thank Goodness it Never Goes Past 38 Degrees Celcius

I know I always complain that it’s hot, but thank goodness it have never gone past 38 degrees celsius (I could say 37 degrees but you know, global warming and all).  I believe our hottest recorded temperature was 36 degrees celsius. A friend of mine who lived in Las Vegas, Nevada told me, that in summer, you could fry an egg sunny side up on the road and that if you leave your car out in the sun you won’t be able to touch it without screaming from pain. Opening the door to your home, felt like opening an oven door as the hot air rushes in to smack you in the face. I definitely don’t want to experience that kind of hot. Well at least we still have a million air-conditioned malls to escape to. And hence the reason for malls since we can’t cover our country in a dome like air-conditioned device.

I was pretty sure Singapore would have reached 38˚C at one point. But I think the heat is very different from Nevada, where it’s a relentless dry baking heat. Here it’s more a humid thing, so it’s more like getting steamed instead of getting roasted, haha!

The humid/roasting comment is true. Whenever my grandmother visited, she used to say she liked how at least it was dry even though the sun was burning. I’m not sure. Singapore humidity always wants me to take 50 showers a day, but roasting in the sun is not appealing either.

It is a cold cold night for Singapore as I am writing this. First time my air-conditioned room actually is warmer than the night air outside. Love it. Wish it were like that every single day. I guarantee you stress and anger levels in singsporeans would drop.

Btw try that egg thing!! Maybe with the help of a magnifying glass too

yeah today was somehow unusually cool. I love it!! 🙂

hahaha yeah was wondering about the egg thing on Singapore roads or car bonnets after a long day in the hot sun…just the thought of the mess puts me off.

I see that you and I are both night owls…the quietness and stillness of the night can be so nice that I just don’t want to go to bed.
