Geylang: Beancurd

The soya beancurd was yummy, but I had a rude shock when I bit into the yu tiao (crullers which are deep fried dough) and oil squirted into my mouth. Uggh. It was probably made in the morning and left to get cold. Or perhaps when it was fried the oil was not hot enough? Quite a disappointment.

The Taiwanese style sandwich filled with pork floss and egg was too oily for me as well, although I liked the taste of the floss. I’d say, if you come here, stick to the bean curd.

It was a pleasant experience to sit at this cool, clean and spacious coffee shop in Geylang.

    I must say, that beancurd looks yummy! From the photos I could not tell that those yu tiao and sandwich are greasy as you wrote, but thanks to your review, some people can avoid having the same shock! I would definitely like the experience of oil seeping out from the bread into my mouth. That just does not sound right…. I was trying to figure out if I have ever passed that area where the restaurant is located, but I don’t think I have…. 🙂
