The Old Man at Ann Siang Hill

I was compelled by the poignant image and work ethic of the elderly man collecting old boxes near the Ann Siang Hill area.  I couldn’t help but feel guilty about my privileged position.

    Life is hard… I sometimes have a difficult time comprehending that a weekly shopping cost for average expats here is about half or sometimes a full month salary for some domestic helps. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos!

      It’s really hard in Singapore with the income gap getting wider and wider. I am lucky (& feel guilty) in comparison as there is no minimum wage here. I wonder how the lowest income folk cope.
