Chinese New Year 2013 in Singapore: What to Do With the Kids?

Wrote about it at Guillaume’s parenting blog, White as Milk. Included details about fun things like lion dances, although my favourite since age 3 has been the dragon dance.

There are scheduled events, but the most fun is coming across impromptu things and chancing upon free events at the malls. There are often lion dances at the malls for good luck.

Some photos I took last year at the Chinatown night bazaar during Chinese New Year including a lion dance puppet and the cutest little tike soaking in the fun on his Papa’s shoulders. I’d say this is a great time to visit Singapore (just before Chinese New Year or maybe even shortly after) but not on Chinese New Year (10-12 February 2013) itself as most of the shops will be closed.
