Tibetan Temple in Singapore
I had no idea there was a Tibetan temple in Singapore. We chanced upon it when B brought me to the Lavender Street hawker centre for the famous Wan Tan Mee. The stall was closed so we headed elsewhere for … Continue reading
Captivating Sights on the Streets of Delhi
You’ll never be bored looking out into the streets of Delhi. Families huddled onto a motorcycle or auto is a common sight. Loved seeing animals like the holy cow, in the middle of Delhi. MacDonalds, a theatre showing a movie … Continue reading
Central Sikh Temple’s External Renovation Completed
Finally the barricades are down and we can see the whole structure of the Central Sikh Temple, which dates back to 1912. The Towner Road building though dates back to 1983. It was hard to take a photo from the … Continue reading

Sri Mariamman Temple at South Bridge Road
I am not sure whether I have ever been inside this Hindu temple, but the carvings always intrigue me. Usually temple artists from India are commissioned to create the sculptures and they are always done by hand. There were several … Continue reading

Serangoon Road: A Church, A Mosque and Temples
A wonderful thing about Singapore is that you just need to drive for 5-10 minutes and you can come across religious buildings of all faiths. Can’t wait to see the full facade of the beautiful Sikh temple when it’s renovation … Continue reading

Architecture: White Chinese Temple
Am not sure if this is a Taoist or Buddhist temple that I saw along Bukit Merah Road. I just thought – what a striking white, framed by the trees. I am assuming this is a temple. I am not … Continue reading

Katong Laksa at Ceylon Road
Didn’t enjoy the laksa, although Katong laksa is supposed to be famous. Found it insipid and it just can’t compare to my favourite claypot laksa which is known as Depot Road laksa (located at Alexandra Village). Just pales in comparison. … Continue reading

From the Car Window: Landmarks, Temples and a Church
Behind the temple you can see the most famous HDB flat – The Pinnacle at Duxton. The Pinnacle towers over everything. The MICA (Ministry of Information, Communication & The Arts) Building. Love the multicoloured lego-like windows. A clearer shot of … Continue reading
From the Car Window: Armenian Road, Hill Street, Victoria Street
Driving away after visiting the Peranakan Museum. There’s a Chinese Temple next to a church I think? Thanks blogger 365days. It’s the Chinese Chamber of commerce and a mosque. Did some googling to find out more about the mosque. It’s … Continue reading

Curry Rice at the Maxwell Road Food Centre
High up on the branch I thought they looked like rambutans, but a close-up shot shows that they are not hairy. So what are these? Spotted the palm tree near the entrance of the Maxwell Road Food Centre. Just across … Continue reading

Arriving in Vietnam
I was surprised that the flight time from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh felt shorter than a trip to Bangkok (2 hour flight). The trip to Saigon took just 1.5 hours. It truly felt like the plane was descending just … Continue reading

An Entrance to A School
This is not a temple but an entrance to the Maris Stella School. I always thought the gateway looked quite arresting.

Colourful Sights at Serangoon Road
You don’t need to go all the way to Kerala for an authentic ayurvedic massage. I spotted a trishaw man taking a break in an alley. Temple at a traffic light, with people milling about. Female traveller trying to cross … Continue reading
