Other Bloggers’ Trips: New Orleans
One way of wetting your appetite before a big trip is to read about it on other people’s blogs. I came across some gems with the most enticing photos and words that appealed to my senses: The architecture, culture and … Continue reading
I Don’t Know Much About New Orleans
If I’ve never travelled somewhere, there’s just a vague picture of it in my mind based on what I’ve seen on TV or read in a book. If it’s not a huge city like New York for instance, and a … Continue reading
Pinwheel of Death
My iMac is frustrating. It’s always showing the pinwheel of death. It slows down and halts projects for me. I tend to then force quit applications and wonder what further damage I am creating. Yes, I am not that tech … Continue reading
Been Stuck, & About Those Library Books I Need to Return Pronto
The words haven’t been stuck but I’ve been reluctant to share what’s on my mind as it all seems just too self-indulgent or worried my private thoughts may be misconstrued. Now and then I do get depressed and anxious over … Continue reading

Happy Year of the Horse
Another glimpse of the magnificent horse at Chinatown. It’s been cool but today clear skies reigned and it was hard to keep my eyes open in the sun’s glare. So bring out your sunglasses if you’re visiting Singapore.
Chinese New Year at Takashimaya
The annual fair that we usually check out at the Takashimaya basement end today. You can get huge ang pow packets there.
Year of the Horse at My Village
Have always felt the decorations at My Village in Serangoon Gardens to be particularly charming.

Total Opposite of a Social Butterfly
I don’t like bumping into people from my ‘past lives’ (when you’re old enough you will have this). This imp’s blog post reminded me of it and thank goodness I’m not such a misfit after all. There are people with … Continue reading

There’s Nothing More Precious then a Talking Toddler
Yes I often gush about my nieces because they are so gush worthy (I’m sure every aunt or uncle feels the same). Just wish I could stay in the moment for longer. In the moment of their pure innocence. I … Continue reading
Craving for Char Kway Teow at the new Tangs basement
Even though I had to queue it was nice to have a plate of fried Kway Teow that was freshly made in an air conditioned place. The new Tangs food hall is very attractive and you can get Bodum double … Continue reading

Krispy Kreme in Singapore
Krispy Kreme has been open for some time, but I was a bit tardy in writing about it. Guess it was because I found it not as good as what I had in Hong Kong. Not as fresh, too sweet … Continue reading
Dessert & Dumplings at Paradise Dynasty
Yummy dumplings and the lovely banana souffle dessert are what I must have at Paradise Dynasty. Service could be vastly improved at the Westgate Branch (level 2) which we went to recently but I won’t fault the food quality.
Jewel Coffee at Rangoon Road
Finally visited Jewel Coffee at Rangoon Road and was surprised to find another famous coffee joint next to it – Liberty Coffee. Had a relaxing time at Jewel as it was spacious and not crowded with very polite people at … Continue reading
Paul at Westgate Mall
Westgate is the only suburban mall that feels like it would fit in at Orchard Road. It has a Paul Bakery Cafe for instance.
Horse Buns for Chinese New Year
I’m not a fan of BreadTalk as I find their breads rather dry, but I must admit they sure are attractive and creative with their designs.
Tiong Bahru Bakery: Orange Croissant & Latte
My idea of what makes a mall good is the availability of a nice cafe with decent coffee and pastries. Lucky for me the Raffles City mall has a Tiong Bahru bakery where I could linger over an orange croissant … Continue reading

Toddler Safety
Toddlers can get into all kinds of scraps so I had to write a post about toddler safety. I feel like they need to be supervised at all times. I would be fearful about unsupervised toddlers as they are constantly … Continue reading
Excited about a Blog Acknowledgement
I’m always grateful for any kind of acknowledgement like the encouraging comments I get. I was also excited to get a Lifestyle Blog Award from writer Ben Holbrook and to discover other Singapore Lifestyle writers. I enjoyed his recent Singapore … Continue reading
Emily Gravett
I adore illustrations by Emily Gravett. She’s an English children’s book writer and illustrator who is in her fourties like me. To me her’s is the dream career and her talent is what I admire as opposed to careers where … Continue reading
Embarrassing Writing
Is writing when you’re half asleep similar to drunk dialing? I wouldn’t know, as I’ve never been drunk. But I envision the embarrassment is similar. It is the most honest reflection of life though, so I’ll leave it. I had … Continue reading
Invisible Chains. I Want to Break Them.
I have these constant feelings of constriction and I just need and want to be free. Free to realise the dreams and vision I always had till I stopped them in their tracks because there came a point when if … Continue reading
